American Kenpo is an innovative martial art designed to be tailored to each individual. Instead of the traditional concept of the student adapting to a style, Kenpo Karate adapts to you. Hence, regardless of age, size, strength or flexibility; anyone can learn the system. Kenpo is highly known for its explosive speed and power. It is based on practical and logical application of self defense techniques designed for their effectiveness. American Kenpo was developed by Senior Grand Master Ed Parker. He noticed the need of a system which would adapt to the ever constant changes in time. His wish, to create a system that would perpetually change with time, never becoming stagnant.

Our Instructor, Luis Ginés, currently holds a 4th Degree Black Belt in American Kenpo and has been practicing this art for over 20 years. He has also trained and participated in other systems such as Brazilian Jiu-jitsu, Filipino Combat Systems, and other styles of Kenpo/Kempo. He owned and administrated his own school for 9 years before moving to the Sunshine State. Has been awarded Hall of Fame by the “Brotherhood of Martial Artists” and became Grand Champion in point sparring in his competition days.

Kenpo Creed

I come to you with only Karate, empty hands, I have no weapons, but should I be forced to defend myself, my principles or my honor, should it be a matter of life or death, of right or wrong; then here are my weapons, Karate, my empty hands.”

– Ed Parker
